Blue solitaire Engagement Rings - Is This Realistic?

Blue diamond engagement rings are a great choice for those couples who wish for something primary and special. Natural blue diamonds are very rare. Roughly 1 out of every 10,000 diamonds has some color in it and a true blue diamond (fancy blue diamond) is one which is a deep blue, which is even more rare. You can get one, but it will be very expensive--about 10-50 times the price of a similar quality/size diamond which has no color. You do, however, have other options, if you truly want a blue diamond in your engagement ring.

There are some options for blue diamonds on a budget. The first is to have a real diamond which has been colored. This is done in a lab in a process piquant irradiation and intense heat. It gives the diamonds an intense color of any shade. This is a nice choice because you are able to select which color and you are using a real diamond.

You could also go with a lab-grown diamond. This gem is made completely in a lab, using hot plasma and carbon dioxide to mimic natural growth. The same impurities which naturally make a diamond blue (boron or hydrogen) are added in the process to make the diamond blue. Both this process and the above process yield a striking diamond, but the resale value is often very low. So if you are finding for your ring to be an investment, this may not be the way to go.

Another option, if you de facto want a natural blue diamond in your engagement ring, think about getting a ring which is not a solitaire. For example, get a smaller blue diamond and surround it by colorless diamonds. Although natural blue diamonds are de facto what every girl is finding for, the man made ones are de facto striking as well. This assuredly gives you a ring which is unique and stands out, just what you want in your engagement ring.
